YouTube + And He Gets The Girl + My Video = Almost off YouTube!?

I think it's inevitable. My "And He Gets The Girl" music video might be taken off of YouTube soon. Almost all the other videos have been taken off except for two and the newer ones. Now I'm on the top of the list with the most views. Eek! But I think I know why mine is still on YouTube. When the copyright owners look for things with their music they only listen for the first ten or twenty seconds. I don't think the music comes in until thirty seconds in (UPDATE: it starts at 0:44). I have my opening title and the opening sequence.

Peace :(

Let's pray it won't get taken down :(

Oscar Noms ... My Predictions

BEST PICTURE
(where the hell is "The Dark Knight"!?)

The Reader

Slumdog Millionaire
Slumdog Millionaire

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Milk
Milk

Frost Nixon
Frost/Nixon

Comments: I honestly do not think Benjamin Button should have been nominated. It was good but it certainly should not "Best Picture" material. This film is getting completely over hyped. I think Slumdog Millionaire should win but I'm not sure. Milk and Frost/Nixon are really similar, or at least, political. I haven't seen The Reader. Based on all that I think this should go to Slumdog but they already won the Golden Globes and in most cases the Academy goes a different route, so I have no clue.

Anne Hathaway

Rachel Getting Married

Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie

Melissa Leo
Melissa Leo
Frozen River

Comment: Jeez, I've only seen Changeling out of the whole bunch. I really want to see Doubt. Angelina Jolie did really well but I don't think she has a chance against Meryle Streep, Kate Winslet and Anne Hathaway. I think it's between those three.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR

Heath Ledger

Heath Ledger
The Dark Knight

Philip Seymour Hoffman
Philip Seymour Hoffman/

Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr
Tropic Thunder

Josh Brolin

Josh Brolin
Milk

Michael Shannon

Michael Shannon
Revolutionary Road

Comments: We all know who this is going to. I have no idea why Robert Downey Jr. is on here. His performance in Tropic Thunder got really old fast. I've seen better African-American parodies from white folks before.

Marisa Tomei

The Wrestler

Penelope Cruz

Amy Adams

Viola Davis

Taraji P. Henson

Comments: Again, I only saw one of these films. I really did like Taraji Henson in Benjamin Button but I think it's going to one of the Doubt ladies.

ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY

Frozen River
Happy-Go-Lucky
In Burges
Milk
WALL-E

Comments: This should go to WALL-E

ADAPTED SCREENPLAY

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Doubt
Frost/Nixon
The Reader
Slumdog Millionaire

Comments: I haven't seen it but I think this could and should go to Doubt. The playright wrote the script and I saw the play and loved it.

BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM

BEST CINEMATOGRPAHY

Changeling
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Dark Knight
The Reader
Slumdog Millionaire

Comments: I think this one will be between Slumdog and Benjamin Button. Slumdog had way too many dutch angles so for me I would put my money on Benjamin Button, that was a beautifully shot film.

Comments: Man, this one is up in the air for me.

BEST COSTUME DESIGN

Iron Man

Comments: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Mmhm ... definitely.

BEST MAKE UP

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Dark Knight
Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Comments: Um ... Hellboy? Maybe Hellboy? Benjamin Button was more visual effects heavy than make-up. Yeah ... Hellboy.

BEST ORIGINAL SONG
(I guess "Joker's Theme" wasn't original enough)

"Jai Ho" - Slumdog Millionaire
"O Saya" - Slumdog Millinaire
"Down to Earth" - WALL-E

Comments: This one is really tough. It's definitely between "Jai Ho" or "Down to Earth" ... both are great songs but for different reasons. When I think of "Jai Ho" I get a really good feeling but in a dancing kind of way and when I listeten to "Down to Earth" I feel good to but in a more spiritual manner. Either way, "Joker's Theme" should be up here.

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Defiance
Milk
Slumdog Millionaire
WALL-E

Comments: Haha ... I'm listening to the Slumdog Millionaire score right now. I'd have to give it to Slumdog. I don't even remember the music in Benjamin Button. I didn't see Defiance. It could also go to WALL-E.

BEST SHORT FILM/SHORT DOCUMENTARY

DVX100B + Antoine = :-D

Finally got my DVX100B today!

Thursday, once I get Final Cut Pro back and a capture cam, I will shoot my first project with my DVX100B titled: "My Room," which should be out late Thursday or early Friday. I'm going to be too bogged down with school work tomorrow and getting supplies and such.

The first meeting for The Devil's Company is fast approaching this Sunday :-D!

Mr. President :-D

For me, Barrack Hussein Obama transcends the mere fact that he is the first African-American president. He is so much more than that. He is an inspiration for so many.

For me, he is not just a president that has made history. The fact that he is African-American does not hit me as hard as it does to those old folks who knew true struggle for equal rights.

For me, I feel foolish for thinking I've struggled at all for the color of my skin. For them, for my generation's grandmother's and grandfather's ... this day was for them.

Do you remember when it was officially announced that Obama was our president-elect? Don't lie and tell me when you saw his smiling face it made you tear up or it hit your heart hard because it wasn't that. It wasn't his victory nor was it ours. It hits you most when you see those old black people, those original political activist crying and tearing up. When you saw Jesse Jackson breakdown there was just so much behind that. When you hear Maya Angelou or Coretta Scott King speak about how it was back then and how much Obama's inauguration means to them now, you know deep down that it's their victory. What they see is Martin Luther King's dream being fulfilled, where a presidental candidate was voted not by the color of his skin but the content of his character.

For me, I will never feel what my elders feel for this victory, for this day, but I can certainly celebrate and clamor with my fist in the air: "Yes We Did!" :-D

Their dreams have been fulfilled. This is their victory. Theirs and so many others.

Peace

Bomb Burritos!

I made some really bomb burritos today :-D

Manfrotto & Coffee Bean

Woke up relatively early today.

Whoopi and I went to the Coffee Bean in Westwood to meet up with a guy from craigslist who was selling a DVX100B (video camera). We were going to meet up with him to check out the camera before I bought it (below is a picture of my check list). It was cool. The guy was chill and the camera was operating well, video and audio alike. I didn't have the money with me because banks are closed Sundays but I'll be picking up the camera on Tuesday. I'm very excited for it. But I did buy something off the guy so he would know I was serious about buying the camera.

Along with the camera he was selling a tripod. At first, I said I was only interested in the camera but then I realized that my tripod had broke many months ago so then I decided to buy his since it was already apart of the "package." I don't know much about tripods but this one looks really sturdy and I messed around with it and it feels really steady. Plus, the only other tripod I had was a generic $20 RadioShack tripod, so this was a big upgrade for me. This one shouldn't break on me in two years (like my RadioShack tripod did).

I made a pretty big dinner today. I made some fried potatoes, brocolli and fish sandwhiches with tomato, lettuce and mayo.

I'm also working on my next blog which will be about this equation: Facebook = Vimeo > MySpace = YouTube.

You can think over what that might mean until I get that post up :-D

I'm also pretty pissed right now at married couples. I've always been angry with married couples. None of them sitck together. When I get married I will make sure to stick it out with my mate. Seriously though, it's ridiculous how many people are getting divorced right not because of financial issues. It's as if they completely disregarded the "for better or for worse" line. Marriage has been belittled to nothingness over the years. Sure, at least most of them aren't forced and arranged like back in the day but come on people, use your free will well, don't waste it!
