Halloween, Forty-Two Days Down

[Way too tired to blog about anything right now. Massive picture blog tomorrow since I got my camera back]

This video should hold you all over. It's from my friend Zach and he got a really tall guy named Liam (see Opening Titles of You Can't Take it With you to see both Liam and Zach). This was at lunch. Best Halloween lunch of my Hamilton history!:

Best costumes ever!

Lupe is the Truth, Forty-One

Lupe spittin' at Michigan University. His song (most likely the intro to his new album), The Coolest, themed off his new album The Cool which go over three majors character/images: The Cool, The Game & The Streets. This freestyle is about the streets. Lupe is so sick.

Here's him just talking:

"Her eyes shown green. The logo for my dreams."

"And if I ever die she would commission my image on her bosom."

This is the extended version:

Lonely Pocket, Forty Days Down

My pocket felt very empty today without the camera in it.

I added a Heroes countdown widget! Just scroll down a bit to view it.

I think I'll post a hoard of pictures tomorrow when I upload them with my mom's camera (which she is giving me tomorrow so I can take pictures of Halloween for the yearbook at school).

Peace

Canon Powershot Broken, Thirty-Nine Days Down

Well it seems like for the next month there will be very few pictures of me or pictures from me. Why you ask? Because I've broken my third Canon Powershot. This one was a record, I think I've only had it three months.

Inner-City Filmmakers on YouTube!

This morning, like I do every now and then, I search for new Inner-City Filmmakers flicks on YouTube and lo and behold I found out that they created a whole YouTube account to ICF films (as of yesterday). So all this morning I've been watching them and here are my top favorites of th '07 class (not including Devindra's because I featured that yesterday)

This was definitely the best comedy of the graduation ceremony. Again, there are choppy moments but the point comes across. Mae Catt is amazing!

NOTE: (Remember for a lot of these films they are the first films for a lot of these directors)

[YOUTUBE just went doown for some reason. I swear I'll put up the other vids up and I'll do SATURDAY's blog.]

Worst Performance Ever

Yea, everything was lacking and the microphones were not working on many of the actors. Just horrible.

Hell Week End, Thirty-Eight Days Down

Check back a few entries to check out VideoBlog #27.

Below is a video from ICF (Inner-City Filmmakers) Class of 2007's Devindra (I don't know his last name). I've been aspiring to go to this summer program since I got into film. This was one of my favorites from the graduation ceremony. There are a few choppy parts here and there (especially in the middle) but all and all, for the kid's first film, it's pretty solid.

Hell Week Day Five, Thirty-Seven Days Down

This one is nice, especially since those are my pictures he used at the end. This was before I even got into editing. I just gave him the pictures and watch without saying "oh that's great but ...." or anything like that so I watch it now with critiques.

Peace.

Hell Week Day Four, Thirty-Six Days Down

Very interesting if you are into Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling ... Hell week is going well. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed my opening titles and the music from Elvis. Tomorrow is showtime and there is a major update!

I may have a role! Yes, Kwame who plays "The Man" in the play does not usually show up on time and is a bit of a hassle when he is on set so the crew decided, or came up with the idea, to have me replace him in the play. Now this is both exciting and frightening. Exciting because he has a small and fun role. Frightening because I may have to remember all his lines by Friday! Eek!

Enjoy the five part video!

Hell Week Day One, Thirty-Three Days Down

Blogs over the next few days will be light due to the hell week for the Fall Drama coming up. In place of it I'll try to put up entertaining videos from YouTube on my favorites list.

Here is the first one, if you haven't see Three in the Afternoon and are a fan of Star Wars (even remotely) or you are just into comedy then here is a video for you. The sequel for this film, Six in the Morning, is due out next month. Can't wait:

[Also, as a side-note, I will complete my late blog by Wednesday, scout's honor]

Peace.

All Day Tech Rehearsal

I seriously don't understand how my room gets like this in a day.

Today I had an all day Tech rehearsal for the Fall Drama at my school You Can't Take It With You (the same show I'm doing the opening titles for) and I guess my grandmother thought we were late because she was running to the car. It was either we actually were late and I was just oblivious or she just really wanted to get to her car.

The set looks brilliant already!

I was really bored most of the day because there are barely any set changes and the microphones weren't there yet.

I snuck out from behind back stage at one point to watch the show. It looked funny enough.

I think a drank a fair few of those Brisk Iced Teas.

There was a live snake on stage.

We had pizza for lunch so I took some home.

I got home and I was watching some of Kanye's music videos on YouTube. When I got to watching "The Good Life" I noticed his hair cut again and I remembered that I myself needed a haircut soon (see below). I've been wanting to do my hair like that since before I got dreadlocks (see below for that picture too) when Love & Basketball came out. So the next time I get my haircut, which should be in the next week, I'll be getting a similar hair cut to Kanye and/or Quincy from Love & Basketball. The question is ... should I have three lines or two?

This would be the most "intense" haircut I've had since I cut my locks. Ever since I cut them my hair has been short, simple and clean.

So at one point while I was looking for a screenshot from Love & Basketball I found a full version of it on YouTube and I was like, "Hmmm ... I should watch that movie!" Then I remembered that it was one of Lillian's favorites too so I proposed that we watch it simultaneously.

Another Substitute, Thirty-One Days Down

It's 7:00 and my bus isn't here. What does that mean? It means our regular bus driver is back. Sad face.

So I just came from my fourth period AP English Literature class and Ms. Stonehill was absent once again. Sad face. We always have pretty strange substitutes who come through but today we had one of the most odd ones yet. First, she started off the class promoting this Opera and this contest to watch an Opera. She said we had to write a two page essay stating why we should go the concert. Eventually, I don't know how, the subject turn to China and how it would be the greatest economic power in the world soon and how in twenty years Los Angeles will be a polluted ruin like in Bladerunner.

Half-way through the class we finally got our actual assignment which was on Sonnents from Shakespeare. I wasn't doing the work and saving it for homework and she called me out because I was talking and then I tried to play it off as if I were talking about couplets and iamb meters from Shakespeare and then she says that I should teach her a few things because she was a history major and that somehow turn her into saying I was handsome and I said thank you. But what really got me is when she said, "And you are so articulate." Now, I being the only African-American male in the joint took this to mean "I'm so impressed with how well you speak with the current situation you are in" so I retort with a "Yeah, are you surprised?" to which the class burst out with laughter. And what really really got me after that is that she didn't get it at all and just went on talking about pollution and operas and stuff like that. She was pretty off.

Another yearbook sibling picture below.

Portrait for the Fall Drama.

And a cage I never knew about.

First practice for Whoopi vs SilentBat was really good. Whoopi has gotten a lot better from the first. I think the teasers also really help him out as well. There are four major sections in the duel. We merely practiced the first half of the first section.

Oh my! SilentBat has Whoopi pinned down!!

Huge clash coming! Look at that balance I have! Thanks Mr. Lott!

Taking a little break.

The setting of the duel.

SilentBat with two lightsaber! Oh golly! This isn't looking good for Whoopi.

Some guy was saying "That's not pee! That's a shadow"

No, it most definitely was pee. A little two or three year old was sitting there and wet herself on the way back from practice.
